Hazrat Isa Alaihissalam has told the religious leaders, phirasees and rabbbis of his age:
” You call yourselves leaders and you cannot see an inch before your noses,
for you filter out mosquitos and swallow the camels. “
And our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW has forewarned us:
” You will repeat the mistakes of your predecessors, so much so that if they
entered in a lizard’s hole, so will you.”
His companions asked:
“Are you talking about the Jews and Christians?”
Allah’s messenger said:
” Who else ?”
If we open our eyes and see we will find an exact picture around us of what Nabi Akram had prophesied. Today Deen itself is of concern to no one but a few. Bulk of attention is on traditions and rituals. Every sect tries to impose his understanding on others and conveniently ignores that our enemies are after Islam and not any one of its sects. Just as the holy prophet had prophesied, we see a competition among sons of shepards to make the tallest buildings ( Dubai and Sharjah). Once I travelled by train from Karachi to Lahore and saw in almost every city, minarets of masjids reaching out for sky. It is not to show grandoise of Islam, but to show prosperity of a particular sect. And just as Nabie Karim had said:
” A time will come when people will say salam only to the aquaitances “
This was so manifestly against the teachings of Islam that Hazrat Salman Farsi RA, asked in bewilderment:
” Is that so , Oh Prophet of Allah ?”
Being Muslims we are duty bound to convey peace which Allah has very kindly granted us, but no one teaches the new generation the manners of Islam.
When I returned from Saudi Arabia, I started saying salam to every person I saw. Some replied, some just waved and some thought about the favour I was expecting from them, a vote or something. Slowly I gave up. Only in the rural areas of Pakistan, people say salam to known and the unknown. The educated of the cities behave like ignorants in this matter. Everyone shares the blame for this pathetic state of affairs, but our ulemaa get most of the blame. They have been filtering mosquitos and swallowing the camels. They talk extensively on unimportant routine matters for hours, but have no time to teach the basics of Islam to the common man. Islam provides a captive audience every Friday and on days of festivity. But these occasions are lost in discussing political or secterian matters.
A young girl, barely 14 years of age, living in Mumbai, asked: “My class fellow is shia and she says Sunnis were not Muslism. Only shias are”, so what should I tell her. Would that they knew that Islam was completed in the life of Hazrat Muhamamd SAW and anything that happened later is history and not Islam.
So much for the preparation of ummah for the armageddon and news has it that a new computer game is fast gaining popularity in England. Its object is to persuade the youth to hate Muslims. Its name is “Muslim Massacre”.It mentally prepares the users to hate Muslims and kill them at a large scale. This represents the European mindset and American mind can be seen in the Neocon Evangelist quest for Armaggedon. Faiz had an exact scenario in mind, when he said.
‘Yaan ahle junoon yak ba diger dasto gariban
Wan jishe sitam, tegh bakaf, darpae jan hai “
That is; here the followers of Islam are cursing one another and there a powerful army, armed to the tooth is marching to crush them.
