Mr. Asif Ali Zardari has said that his promise to restore pre November 3 Judiciary was not Quran or Hadith which cannot be changed. Earlier he refused to honor his promise on holy Quran in the same matter.
The society in which we live attaches great importance to promises. Our traders make deals of millions on verbal agreements. ” Mard ki zaban aik hoti hai” is a popular adage. Our beloved prophet has said:
” There are three signs of a hypocrite: When he speaks he lies, when he promises he breaks it and when entrusted with a trust he commits breach of trust”.
Even Hinduism which is more a mythology rather than a religion, has a code of conduct. Learned Hindus say: “Pran jae par bachan na jae”. But Mr. Zardari, aspiring to become president of Pakistan has made a mockery of his promises. He has given several dates for restoration of Judiciary, but has deviated every time, so much so that even people of average intelligence now doubt that he will ever fulfill his promise. Such leaders are a disgrace to their political outfits and a curse for the country.
In fact he has committed so many corrupt practices that he is scared of an honest and strong Judiciary. Recently I saw a list of his properties and bank balances which was bigger than anybody’s wildest imagination. So much wealth cannot be acquired without breaking the law. As Hazrat Ali KAW has said:
” The heaps of wealth do not accumulate except with usurption of rights”
Now that Pervaiz Musharraf has been removed from national political scene, it is about time we get rid of his departing kick, Mr. Zardari, whom he imposed upon the nation by issuing notorious NRO. Muslim League N, intends to field Mr. Javed Hashmi who suffered a prolonged imprisonment at the hands of Pervaiz. Let all non-people party MNAs, MPAs and Senators vote for him so as to show their displeasure to Mr. Zardari’s disregard of higher judiciary. Hopefully many peoples party legislators will also not vote for him, shattering his dream of dominating the country by toeing American line.
